Investigation of the effects of hybridization types and temperature on the quasi‐static indentation properties of glass/flax hybrid composites for various test speeds

Hybridizing man-made fiber composites with natural fibers has been chosen for numerous structural or semi-structural applications over the last several decades. Even though studies have conducted to determine mechanical properties of inter-ply hybrid composites, effects hybridization on out-of-plane still need be clarified. The at low temperatures are another significant matter elucidated. In this study, E-glass and flax yarns were used produce woven fabrics obtain intra- composites. They then subjected quasi-static indentation test −30°C, 25°C, 60°C. It was concluded that, according type, an improvement decrease can obtained in contact force energy absorption pure glass composite could increased 8.88% 3.87% proportions respectively, thanks intra-ply composite-1 study. Furthermore, through-thickness damage mechanisms profoundly affected by temperature.
